The leprechauns were here and boy were we lucky.  We found gold!  The bunny hopped on by and we got to say Hi.  We also had a special Police Officer visit to teach us all that the Police force does to keep us safe.  They are so brave and we appreciate them.

We learned about Winnie the Pooh and all of his friends.  They each have their own personality with their own strengths and together they make a great group of friends who work together. We celebrated  by bringing our stuffed animal from home and making a crown for our stuffed animal and ourselves.  We sang Winnie the Pooh and Tigger songs.

Cottage Preschools PreK classes were invited to Camp Arroyo for Disneys  Storytelling.  ABC7 News Anchor Natasha Zouves read us a new favorite Frozen Story.  We were surprised by a meet and greet with Princess Anna and Elsa.  Taylor Family Foundation treated our Preschoolers like royalty. Our inspired afternoon ended with snacks and goodie bags.  We love reading!

ABC7 News anchor Natasha Zouves herself sounded like a princess as she read to us and inspired us to love reading.  She asked us questions and was such a good listener when we answered.

Meeting Princess Anna and Elsa was super special and memorable.  They spent a lot of time talking to each one of us.

Lots of hugs and love were shared.

Seed, sprout, plant, flower & PUMPKIN!  We learn about the life cycle at school and get to see it on the farm. Our trip begins with a hayride which takes us around the giant corn field to a corn classroom.  Then off to see the farm animals, play in the corn box, hay maze, snack and picking our pumpkin, corn and gord.  Throughout the month we're learning about Fall. At the end of October we get to wear our Halloween costume to school and have a fashion show.

I'm excited to meet new friends, learn, play, share and so much more.   Cottage Preschool is my place to shine.  Circle time, Dress up room, game room and craft room- so much to explore.  Singing, sharing bag and good morning with the pom pom are a few of my favorite things.  Learning my letters, numbers, holding a pencil and cutting with scissors build my confidence.  I can do it!

In February we made a very special surprise Valentine for our parents.  We decorated with stickers, glitter and markers.  On Post Office day we bought a stamp and walked to the mailbox to mail it.  Our families were so happy when they received it in the mail.

Our MWF Pre-K class enjoyed a trip to the Castro Valley Tree Farm to pick out the Cottage Christmas tree.  We searched and agreed on our favorite tree.  We took turns using the saw to cut it down.
Picture
After our hard work we enjoyed hot chocolate and story time in the beautiful tree farm.

Hip Hip Hooray!  We're so proud of ourselves and the tree we picked out for all of our friends to help decorate.

Thanksgiving Feast

Cottage Preschool's Annual Thanksgiving Feast.  The kids were hands-on in preparation for our Thanksgiving Feast.  The children, ages 2 1/2 to 5 years old, prepared the food: pumpkin bread, stuffing, turkey, vegetables, apple sauce and orange ice for dessert.  They decorated the tables with the centerpieces they made.  They also made headbands and necklaces.  They are thankful for their families and friends.

In the photos below, you can see we love making orange ice. Love eating it, too!

From the photos below, you can see we loved performing at our Feast. The Feast is a long time tradition.  It is a nice reminder at the beginning of a busy holiday season to sit, relax, enjoy and be thankful for the company of family and friends

An additional fun part of this year's Thanksgiving Feast was that the local newspaper, The Independent News, came and covered our Thanksgiving Feast--we made the front page news!  Here are some of the photos their photographer took of our special event!
