We meet on Monday and Wednesday 9:00-10:30.  We begin and end our day with Circle Time. This is the structured part of our day.  Morning Circle Time includes Sharing Time which provides students with the opportunity to practice their speaking skills and gain confidence.  Circle Time also includes activities such as weather and singing as well as an introduction from the teacher for the day’s lesson.  Closing Circle Time consists of Story Time, singing, and movement.
Every day at school, students have Choice Time and can explore the game room, dress-up room and the craft room.  Then students have Outside Playtime which includes swings, sandbox, water table, bikes, climbing structures & slides.
Our Early Education Curriculum of large and small group activities aims to fulfill the following goals: following routine, making choices, initiating play, engaging in cooperative behavior with peers, enthusiasm about school and independence from parents, developing an ease in talking and small and gross motor skills.  Our intellectual development is encouraged throughout our day by learning our basic shapes, colors, name, basic body parts, beginning letter & number recognition, sorting objects and identifying patterns and enjoying being read to.

3-3 1/2 year old class
($180/month)

We meet on Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-11:00.  We begin and end our day with Circle Time. This is the structured part of our day.  Morning Circle Time includes Sharing Time which provides students with the opportunity to practice their speaking skills and gain confidence.  Our daily lesson is taught as a whole group, but then students work in small groups of 4 with a teacher.  There are hands-on projects that include small motor development and creativity.  After the lesson, students eat a snack they’ve brought from home then play outside for recess.

This class encourages making new friends and treating our friends how we want to be treated.  Our goal is to encourage building self confidence and inviting a friend to play.  We also model negotiating skills necessary to communicate when a problem arises and how we can manage the conflict with our words.  In addition to developing social skills, students build their literacy skills through rhyme, repetition and prediction.

Pre-Kindergarten classes
(T-TH $213/month; M-W-F $327/month)

We meet on Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10:45a-1:45p OR Tuesday, Thursday 11:15a-1:45p  Our PreK program is for students age 4-5 years old and focuses on Kindergarten Readiness.  Our program is designed to prepare students for an accelerated academic program in Kindergarten.

Each day’s Sharing Time focuses on a special theme which children bringing items from home to fit the theme.  Each theme develops the importance of language, literacy and reasoning skills needed to excel in reading, math, science and social studies.  Music is incorporated throughout our day because it builds our brains and bodies and helps us learn and remember new skills.

Children are given time for independent exploration in the game room, dress up room or craft room.  We also have a structured teacher directed activity that teaches fine motor skills such as holding a pencil and using scissors correctly, forming our letters and numbers and writing our name.

This class works on academic concepts such as learning letters and sounds, phonics, phonological awareness, concepts about print, as well as comprehension and oral language developed through guided games and journal writing.  If a child needs more challenge or extra help we individualize their instruction one-on-one.

Students bring a lunch from home and we enjoy socializing with our classmates at lunch and outdoor playtime.  Students use this time to learn how to make new friends, take turns and be a good friend.  The emphasis is treating our friends how we want to be treated.  We want to include all our friends at playtime.  We foster cooperation and recognizing our own feelings and those of others.  This is our opportunity to learn to respond appropriately during playtime.
We wrap the day with Story Time which reinforces our theme for the day.  It allows us to review what we’ve learned, sequence events, use illustrations to predict whats going to happen.
